1. Set the right portion
- Average adult cat (8–10 lb): ~⅓–½ cup dry food/day, split into 2–4 meals.
- Start with the vet-recommended amount on your food's label, then adjust to keep a healthy weight.
- Use the app to set exact portions per meal — consistency beats big single meals.
2. Build a feeding schedule
- Cats do best with 3–4 small meals spread across the day.
- Sample: 7:00 AM · 12:00 PM · 5:00 PM · 9:00 PM.
- Keep meal times consistent — it reduces begging and overnight wake-ups.
3. First-time setup (3 minutes)
- Fill the hopper with dry food (kibble 2–12 mm works best).
- Connect to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi in the app, record your 10-sec mealtime voice clip.
- Add your meals + portions, enable battery backup for power cuts.
4. Keep it running smoothly
- Wipe the hopper & tray weekly; fully dry before refilling (moisture causes clumps).
- Keep food below the max line to prevent jams.
- Battery backup keeps meals on schedule during outages — check batteries every few months.
5. Transition tips
- Place the feeder where your cat already eats for the first week.
- Hand-feed one portion from the tray on day 1 so they learn the sound = food.
